Giving Tuesday at Monkey Joe’s
Each year we partner with Alex’s Lemonade Stand to support childhood cancer. This year we weren’t able to host our traditional lemonade fundraiser due to COVID-19, so we are dedicating our efforts on this Giving Tuesday, December 1st, to raise money for children battling cancer across the world.
What is Alex’s Lemonade Stand?
At Monkey Joe’s we are inspired daily by the courage, determination, and compassion of children. Alex’s Lemonade Stand is an organization that is a true testament to the bravery of one particular little girl who has now changed the world and inspired millions of people.
Alexandra “Alex” Scott was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a type of childhood cancer, shortly before her first birthday. When she was just 4-years-old she held her first lemonade fundraiser in her front yard and raised over $2,000 toward childhood cancer.
In August of 2004, Alex passed away at the age of eight, and Alex’s Lemonade Stand lives on as a legacy of her life. People all over the world now hold lemonade stands to raise money for every child with cancer to receive treatment.
Giving Tuesday 2020
This Giving Tuesday, Monkey Joe’s is dedicated to giving to Alex’s Lemonade Stand and making a difference in the lives of children with cancer. We invite you to join us! We know that this year has been anything but certain, but we believe that even the smallest amount can help make a difference in the lives of individuals. You can donate today to Alex’s Lemonade Stand here.
At Monkey Joe’s we are grateful for many things, but one of the biggest are the kids and families that we encounter day in and day out in the jungle! If you would like to give to a different organization dedicated to impacting the lives of children this Giving Tuesday, here are a few more ideas:
